    Sweden's newest port has been assigned its transport location codes. This is a milestone for the Stockholm Norvik Port and confirms that the construction of the port is on time and on budget.

    Almost ashore

    The final pieces of the puzzle are slotting into place for the new Stockholm Norvik Port to be able to welcome the first vessel in May 2020. The quays are to all intents finalised, as are the ground installations and more than half of the buildings.

    The new onshore power facilities at the Värtahamnen Port are the most modern, and in wattage-terms the largest, in the Baltic Sea area. Onshore power supply at the quayside provide a way to reduce vessel emissions of air pollutants, resulting in greener shipping.

    Record cruise passenger numbers for Ports of Stockholm in 2019

    The number of cruise passengers travelling via Ports of Stockholm is continually rising, and has set a new record again this year. During the 2019 season Ports of Stockholm welcomed 281 cruise liners. The cruise passengers are an important part of Stockholm’s tourist industry and generate large amounts of revenue for the region.
